plugging bass into guitar amp

Re: plugging bass into guitar amp

I can't think of it hurting the amp until the speaker fails. Lets say the speaker fails and then the amp doesn't have a load (or more correctly too great of a load, the resistance being air) thats where the amp would get hurt.

To say the bass guitar would directly screw up the components is foolish. What do the guys in drop c plug into, baritone guitars, etc...

This man knows what he is talking about.

does a guitarist that uses a seven string drop tuned(e.g. Korn) need to use a bass amp? considering he is in bass frequencies, slipknot use marshall guitar amps they tune to B or A. if you use a guitar amp with a bass guitar just make sure that the speaker cab can handle it (e.i designed for bass guitar)

Exactly, that is the case.

The idea of bass guitar signal can directly damage an amp is somewhat false like masturbation can cause spine deformation :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2:
