plywood guitar, which pickup will sound better

ok i have this rr copy, its neckthru but the body im pretty sure is ply wood. which of these pickups will sound best in it??? i have these layin around.

duncan jb

duncan distortion

dimarzio super distortion

i want it to have a fairly decent metal sound.
i think im going to use this guitar for drop d tuning??? or 1/2 step down as a back up to my usa rr1.

Re: plywood guitar, which pickup will sound better

I don't mean this in a sarcastic way, but if you've got them "layin around", why go with theory?

Try 'em, and see what sounds good. ;)

Re: plywood guitar, which pickup will sound better

Go with teh superdistortion. The higher output should compress the tone and cover up the crappy tone of the plywood

Re: plywood guitar, which pickup will sound better

ok, i put this one in, i dont know what it is but it sounds pretty decent. anyone know which duncan this one is. on the bottom of the pickup where seymour duncan is imprinted in the base it has that little sticker. it says D C L or DCJ?? i cant tell cause the last letter is faded. i decided to try it cause i dont know what it is lol. but it does sound pretty good:)

Re: plywood guitar, which pickup will sound better

Its a Duncan Custom, wound by someone with an initial of L or J.

Re: plywood guitar, which pickup will sound better

I have had a super distortion in a plywood guitar. I thought it sounded very nice. I couldnt belive that guitar could sound that good.

Re: plywood guitar, which pickup will sound better

Kurt Cobain's sound on the 'Bleach' album, i think, is plywood guitars with Super Distortions...maybe just stock humbuckers tho...i dunno...

Use the JB and mail me the Super Distortion :D
