POD 2.0 alternatives for late-night practice?

Re: POD 2.0 alternatives for late-night practice?

The $40 Irig that uses the headphone jack is garbage, don’t get it. I assume the lighting one is better, but I just went back to an AmpPlug or a POD.

Agreed....I bought one for the same purpose of the OP. It was junk right out of the box.

So what about it made it junk? Build quality? Sound quality?

Build quality.
It kept cutting in and out. I was using an operational set of headphones so I know they were good.
The sound quality, when it worked was good enough for a practice amp. If it had worked correctly I would have been content with that. Some days it seemed to work better than others.

In addition I’d get feedback/squealing with gain. Sound quality was pretty poor. The Vox Amplug sounds like you are plugging into a Boss pedal with a little EQ, but at least it’s usable. The POD is miles better.

I assume the $100 Lightning/USB one is better.
