POD 2.0 - vs - PODxt

Im going to get a POD2 and have just got a vouple of questions...
Is it really worth paying double the amount of a POD2 to get a POD xt?
Podxt has all the good software updates does this apply to pod2 aswell?
Ive heard from people that they didn't like the original software/pod until they upgraded. I dont want to be stuck with the original software! What stops someone from making a compressor for 2.0 (i no it doesnt come with it but xt does)
I know that Podxt has more effects and mic simulation but why is it so much better?

POD xT's models just sound a lot better I think. I used a 2.0 for two years, then upgraded to an xT. I'm wanting to upgrade to an xT Pro now so I can get the POD into my rack and I need some of the extra ins/outs.

Anyways, to further answer your questions, the v2.0 update to xT makes everything sound MUCH better, and the model packs you can download add some very nice models as well. Bogners, Diezels, etc. A big deal about why xT is better than 2 is just that 2.0 really isn't being supported anymore. Any new patches/updates/etc. will apply to the xT and Vetta II lines.

An xT shouldn't be twice the amount of a 2.0 from any store. Musician's friend has them at $299 and $199 respectively. Check out the auction for my xT on eBay right now, it might interest you. Again I'm trying to fund an xT Pro purchase, that's the only reason for the sale.

I really am turing towards xt. But ill have to import from US cause they are almost 900 here in Aus!!!!

I should add that it will be used mainly for recording perposes.
I've listened to the tracks on the site and they arn't really that impressive. The ones that interested me the most where the clean sounds! I'll use my own pedals for distortion anyway!

Check your PMs, and listen to this .mp3, this is a song recorded using my RG and the POD. The only tracks that aren't recorded using the POD are of course the drums and bass.
