ya but i hear that sounds like dung
With the floorboard you can add a clean boost, AND I use another clean boost in front. It enhances the harmonics and makes it all more alive, just as with a tube amp. It sure sounds good to me. On a POD 2.0.

Re: POD help

Guess what? I hooked it up to the computer to record and do some jamming. WHOA this this sounds AMAZING recorded. I can't believe it. When you download the drivers with Line6 Monkey it allows you to record through USB with any programs that support it. Two programs I have, Kristal(free) and Audacity(free) both support it. I had so much fun tonight laying down rythmn and soloing over it.

Re: POD help

Chris, I say GO FOR THE xt!

The xt Live comes with the FX pack installed. Food for thought.

I had the 2.0. I liked it. It got sounds that I liked.

The xt came out, and I said, "Why upgrade? I like what I have."

The xt Live came out, and I thought, "Setup would be much easier with that unit." So I ordered one. I sold off my 2.0, pedalboard (big one), gig bags for POD and the Floorboard/POD, the POD mount, and bought the xt Live.

The xt Live tones blew me away! They really ARE better.

Re: POD help

My experience with a Boss GT-6 is what's keeping me from considering the XT live.... and it's strictly the size. 99.9% of my playing is sitting on the couch with a little amp by myself, so the compactness of the XT is a huge selling point. Chances are, I'll never buy a floorboard for it, and I couldn't tell you the last time I had to go from clean to distorted quickly :)

However, based on talking to people, soundclips, and prior experience with Line 6, I'm totally sold on the XT, and pending a few pieces of gear moving in a timely manner, I'm getting one.

I heard it sounds bad to overdrive a POD :) I don't know I haven't tried it.
Another thing about the Xt is the USB connectivity. I already updated it to v3 and downloaded some patches. Most of the patches I downloaded sucked though. The Xt has the freedom to update and add extra amps.

Oh ya...I'm running it into the front end of my solid state twin and into my C30. It sounds good through both.

You don't crank the output like you would with an amp. You simply add a little overdrive to the tone. Sime idea, different method.

I mean adding a boost pedal in front of the POD.
