Go check out the 3.0 update! New models, new wah's, new stomps, and best of all...

Bass models and cabinets, for the guitar PODxt.

I'm installing now, but I'll let you guys know how it goes!

Re: PODxt Updates - EX-250, You'll Dig this!

Re: PODxt Updates - EX-250, You'll Dig this!

Huh, I'll have to check it out. I didn't expect a big update for a long time, if ever.

Agreed...it would make the XT a serious contender for alot of home studios.

I'm downright impressed with the fact that they did the upgrade for free and are actually really looking to offer more. It's a good sign!

Re: PODxt Updates - EX-250, You'll Dig this!

damnit......$100 for the bass pack? arrgghhh

Re: PODxt Updates - EX-250, You'll Dig this!

Have they done anything about the bright/brittle nature of some of higher gain patches?

Re: PODxt Updates - EX-250, You'll Dig this!

Bright/brittle nature of the high gain patches? You mustn't be talking about the actual metal pack - I found all of those to be really dark and woofy without tweaking and tons of presence (still useable, but dark at first).

I knew they'd charge for the bass pack and I don't *$100* need it.. I'll upgrade when I get home.

Sweeeeet. I know what I'm doing with my Mac when i get home.

^^^^ nerdiest thing EVAR.

i actually do "need" it. what ive always used to record bass just broke, and im in the market for something to do bass with. $100 is cheaper than pretty much anything else i would be buying, but i dont know how good this is.....only one way to find out i guess

Re: PODxt Updates - EX-250, You'll Dig this!

Just updated, however I won't have time to play with patches till later tonight.

Re: PODxt Updates - EX-250, You'll Dig this!

theres some fun stuff in the update. nothing particularly useful, but i like messing around with the octaver

Re: PODxt Updates - EX-250, You'll Dig this!

im sitting here hoping that one of you guys will blow the $100 so i can find out if its worth it, but it looks like im gonna be the one to take the first step

Re: PODxt Updates - EX-250, You'll Dig this!

its not amazing, but im not disappointed. i suppose the convenience factor makes it even better

No, just the standard stuff. I need the metal pack like I need a hole in the head. They needed to work on the EQ. The sounds would go from wooly to having a nasty sizzle in them no matter what I did with EQ.

The bass pack is a neat idea but a good DI gets me what I need for bass for now.

Re: PODxt Updates - EX-250, You'll Dig this!

The paragraphic EQ is the secret to a good tone out of these units, IMO.

I'm loving the new wahs, and the new soldano model... totally badass.

Re: PODxt Updates - EX-250, You'll Dig this!

I use the parametric. It helps.

I backed up my patches and installed the firmware and default patches. Patch 12a / 13b / 14c damn good for stock presets. Overall there are probably 4-5 stock presets that are usable untouched and that has NEVER been the case in the past.

Re: PODxt Updates - EX-250, You'll Dig this!

I'm totally diggin the "Bender" effect. Always wanted a digitech whammy to play around with. This is pretty sweet :D.
