And not quite pointy, but my good 'ol Gibson Firebird Studio

Quite frankly, I miss the Ibanez Destroyers by far They both had the best playability and comfort by a wide margin and the DT400 was prolly the loudest, most resonant guitar I've owned. The Explorer and Firebird were also great players with great pieces of mahogany.

Despite the cost, stellar build quality, and beauty, I never could quite bond with the USA Dean, and the USA Hamer was worse in that respect- it was heavy as hell and poorly balanced

Re: pointy guitars

Here is a "pointy" guitar that I designed, built by Neal Moser (Moser Custom Shop):

Feels exactly like an original BC Rich from the late 70s/early 80s, the neck is HUGE, fat, wide and flat, I love it!

Cheers,

CJ

Re: pointy guitars

I don't think the Explorer and the V for that matter truly count as pointy's. Even during the peak of the pointys, I still consider these traditional design, because they have been around since the 50's. I guess some may disagree.

My fav pointy is the Explorer:

That's nothing.

That reaper has been around since year 1296 of the second age, Shire calendar. Used to be Saurons backup axe but he sold it on Celebornlist.com to raise cash for another Doom metal tour.
