Pole piece height adjustment to Lil'59 question

I'm interested to hear from anyone who has made adjustments to the pole pieces of their Lil'59 pickups. Is there a notible change in sound?

I read in one forum to "arrange the heights of the polepieces to imitate a Fender Wide Range Humbucker - three up and three down on one coil, and the reverse on the other coil". Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

P.S. I've got a Telecaster with the Lil'59 in the bridge position.

IMO, you are free to adjust as many or as few of the polepiece screws as you consider necessary.

One option is to adjust the screws heights to resemble the curvature of the fingerboard. A second option is to adjust the screws into a slightly flattened variation on the staggered polepiece height pattern found on older Stratocaster pickups. A third option is to raise only the D and G poles so as to mimic the stagger pattern of some Telecasters.

My preference is to set an overall treble to bass balance with the pickup height adjustment screws then raise the A, D G and B polepieces to taste.

Not sure if this works on the lil59 but according to the Gibson site, this shows the correct stagger for a full sized humbucker, with the string outputs matched on an osciloscope... works great.

I have radiused them to match the curvature of the neck/bridge. What I noticed is string balance improved and clarity improved. You can also raise lower one coils poles to tune the amount bass/treble response you want.

Thank you Funkfingers, wolf5150 and idsnowdog. This is a new subject area for me to understand and don't really see much discussed about it.
