This was a great idea for a poll, and some good responses already. It could actually be broken down into a few separate polls, ranking the importance of different aspects of the body, neck, pickup/electronics, hardware, etc.

I must confess, I cheated, I voted for four things -- body wood, neck wood, pickups, and scale length. I wanted to vote for scale length, but I couldn't leave out any of the other three things.

Can you just accept that this thread is about guitars and guitar parts, and not about amplifiers, fingers, hands, or anything else that is neither a guitar nor commonly part of a guitar?

When did I say that other stuff? I adamantly believe fingers don't effect the tone. The amp certainly does. Besides I was joking. You can chillax bra.:14:

I wasn't just addressing you.

Ten choices, and not one of them is "The Fingers."

Sometimes we talk about the amplifier. Sometimes we talk about the player. Or the pedals. Or the cables. This is not one of those times.

Edit: I'm more relaxed about this than I probably seem. I've been channeling the Sandoval lately, and I'm super chill.

I clicked everything, because they ALL play a factor. Of course, you also left out fretboard wood and fret material (i.e. ebony with stainless steel frets will sound different than rosewood with nickel frets).
