Pop, Classic Rock, Metal, R&B/Funk, Jazz or Classical?

Re: Pop, Classic Rock, Metal, R&B/Funk, Jazz or Classical?

I play a lot of

2. Classic Rock
7. Country

I play some

4. R&B/Funk

I play a little
8. Reggae
5. Jazz

And I play a whole lotta blues, a lot of hard rock (but not metal or even heavy rock really) and I play a lot of my own style of clean electric guitar that really has no genre that I know of.

Jazzed-up Blues on a funky beat seems to be what's coming out lately.
As a rhythm and bass player, I see a Reggae phase coming in the near future.

Punk is definitely not music, and neither is alternative. Well...I don't blame ya...

I had a music teacher in high school who always said it is important to remember all music is beautiful to somebody. Are you trying to be like the dog from Family Guy on purpose around here?

I always thought of music as Rhythm, Melody, and Harmony...some styles put greater emphasis on one or the other (Rap for example majors the emphasis on Rhythm.) Just because something doesn't please me doesn't mean it isn't music. There are those (probably over 99% of people) who would not like my music...

I play professionally but my playing is the level only Johnny Rotten and Thurston Moore can match.

Hmm, I generally play fusion and ambient music on my own, and jazzy soul with a band, but those aren't on the list...
