Pop when I turn off amp.

Re: Pop when I turn off amp.

I believe it's just sound of electron flow thru the speakers and you hear the noise.
Are you playing your amp at a higher volume now?
Try turning the volume down and see if it still pops..
What kind of amp is it? Tube or solid state? Brand and model helps too.

Re: Pop when I turn off amp.

Traynor YBA-1. Happens at all volume levels.

I saw your "troll" comment in my other post, and I don't appreciate it. I wrote three threads today because I got no replies to the detailed thread I started yesterday that asks about all three issues.

I apologize for that.. My bad, I answered this one and saw the other one and thought you were trolling.

Too be honest, some of the Traynors and Marshalls are kinda known for that pop. I think that is inherent with some of the older amp designs and a Traynor is basically a Canadian Plexi.
Great amps! I don't think this will hurt anything and electrically it could be anything from a cap discharging to a blast of voltage going to ground?
I don't know why it just started doing it, I can't explain that. I had a JCM900 SLX with EL-34 and it always popped when I shut it off. Played other JCMs adn some popped some didn't.
Electricity is an unforgiving beast, she goes where she wants to on her search for ground..

Re: Pop when I turn off amp.

The manual for my El Diablo advises to always turn the volume down before turning the amp off (or on, to play it safe...)

Re: Pop when I turn off amp.

It shouldn't pop if you turn it on standby first. Then when you power down, you just hear the sound dwindle down.

Re: Pop when I turn off amp.

make that three threads
I missed the trolling thread
I don't know what beef you and Kramersteen have with me, but I ask that you knock off the rude replies. If either of you had looked through the posts from earlier this week you would have seen that I submitted one very detailed post asking for help on three problems I am having with my amp. Nobody replied. So the following day I wrote three shorter posts, each asking about a single problem. In less than an hour I started getting replies. Several of the replies asked for information that I had supplied in my initial post. I gave the requested information rather than a snotty "I already wrote all this down. Look at my other post." I think that I asked legitimate questions, and I appreciate the helpful responses I received. As for those of you who chose to not be helpful, please revisit Basic Manners 101.
