Re: Portable vox's. Who's gonna try them?

Me likey!
It would be great for the long train trips or at night (when i can't play even remotly loud since i usually arrive late at home my practice time is poopy).
It all depends on the price thought...

Re: Portable vox's. Who's gonna try them?

As usual... I wonder how hard it would be to make such a thing myself. I keep wanting to have a small but decent project but never get around to it.

Shouldn't be to hard...
Just wait and somebody will post the schematic on teh interwebs.
Or you could build the little gem or ruby or something like that I tried one and it's not that bad.

Re: Portable vox's. Who's gonna try them?

If I ever need to play with headphones I just don't plug in. Seems like waste of money IMO

Re: Portable vox's. Who's gonna try them?

They cost 35 British Pounds or roughly $70 American according to the 2nd link.

Would really want to play one to see if it is worth it, and I since love walking around and playing guitar, this will work much better than no amp at all.

Re: Portable vox's. Who's gonna try them?

Gonna see if they show up around here. If I can try it I will. If not maybe I'll try the Ruby.

****.

I got all excited. I thought they were mini portable amps with a small speaker inside them until I read they were headphone amps. That just killed it for me.

the idea of a small portable amp that actually sounds good is what we need. there's already a dozen other headphone type amps...

One of those would be great for my school's long trips, I'd just have to get a small electric guitar to bring with me. A project...a tiny travel Stratocaster? Hmm...;)

Depends on the tone you're after of course, but i swear for my Pignose 7100 has a great clean, and to my surprise sounds very good with a BSIAB II, turn the volume up and it distorts.
I love how single coils sound on the Pignose, and some vintage PAFs sound very nice to, however others pickups with higher output sound crappy.
Great buy if you're a single coil guy looking for a good clean tone.
