I need to know if there is a rule of thumb or math equation to figure the size of a port for optimum "mid" frequencies.
I have 1 cab W/G12 greenback and 1 cab W/original G30 both sized around 11" deep and 15 " tall, almost a a perfect cube, both 1/2 alder wood and no insulation. So I do not want any insulation, and lastly, does it matter if the port is on the front or back and low or high. Powered by a Hot Rod Deluxe and used as an ext. cab. (40 watt tube amp), impedance 4 ohm total, yes, I know, but my electric guy says the amp can take it. I am using 2 8ohm spkrs. parallel, and use it live maybe 3 times a year live for about three hours-tops.
