Well, it turns out the lemurs aren't bad after all.
They didn't steal my guitar. They took it to Madagascar to have it worked on. The randsom note was apparently something conjured up by the cat faction (You've got some 'splainin' to do, Pac!!).
Anyway, they got the broken switch fixed, and made a wonderful, deadly improvement while they were at it. When I opened the case, I was surprised to find a new set of pickups installed - Live Wires.
These baby's are awesome. The Classic in the neck is a sweet, beautiful sounding pickup. It cleans up very nicely, and can get some nice grit when you need it. This may be my favorite neck pickup of all. It kind of reminds me of a Jazz in some ways.
The Metal bridge is unholy. It's a ton hotter than the neck pickup and has a bit of a compressed sound to it. It'll drive your amp into meltdown if you're not careful (I think I almost broke my brother's Roland Cube 15). It overdrives my Blues Jr. quite nicely.
I'd really like to try it out in a more Metal-oriented tube amp.
Overall, I'm very pleased. I've still got a little tinkering to find the sweet spot in the bridge, but I'm happy with it. Unfortunately, my Peavey is getting a little neglected right now.
Oh yeah. I guess I should post some pics.
