Possible PRS wiring mod?

The PRS 5-way rotary switch is a good way to get versatile sounds from a 2-humbucker guitar, because the middle positions all involve splitting the coils in various ways while maintaining hum cancelling:

Position 6: Neck humbucker
Position 7: Inside coils in parallel
Position 8: Inside coils in series
Position 9: Outside coils in parallel
Position 10: Bridge humbucker

The problem is that positions 7, 8, and 9 all sound pretty heinous due to the 500k tone and volume pots. I could switch them out with 250k pots, but that would destroy the tone of positions 6 and 10.

However, I've found a neat trick. Apparently putting two 1 meg risistors in parallel across each pot effectively reduces them to 250k. Unfortunately, by just wiring them straight to the pots themselves, you'd again ruin the 6 and 10 positions.

My question is, would there be any way that the rotary switch could be used to add those resistors in for positions 7,8, and 9, but keep them out of the circuit for positions 6 and 10? Would this be possible?
