Possible to have both Series/Parallel and Phase functions for one single pickup?

Hi guys,

I need some help on wiring diagrams, I'm wondering if my thought is doable, or just silly. The guitar is a SG. I have one 4-conductor Jazz neck PU to experiment with. I have two regular pots and two push/pull pots. Is it possible that I dedicate both push/pull pots tot the neck PU that one controls Series/Parallel, the other controls phase? I'm checking the SD official diagrams and seems like the wires can only end up on one push/pull pot. Is it possible to extend them to the next push/pull? Thank you very much in advance.

Of course you can do that.

When you say out of phase, do you want the pickup to be out of phase with itself, or do you want it to be out of phase with the other pickup in the middle position? Either are possible, BTW.

Very common to do a half Jimmy page with 2 pull pots. 1 flips a pup out if phase. 2nd switches between pups in series and parallel.

Of course you can do that.

When you say out of phase, do you want the pickup to be out of phase with itself, or do you want it to be ou of phase with the other pickup in the middle position? Either are possible, BTW.

I was checking my neck PU's diagram, so I guess it means out of phase with itself, but out of phase with the other is also fine to me. I got two push/pull knobs so I just want both to have something to do with. So if it's doable, I just extend the color wires soldered on the first push/pull pot? So having both coil-splitting and serial/parallel on one single PU also possible?

Have you also looked into the 1/2 Jimmy Page wiring as suggested by the other poster?

It's nice to try different things, but if you need specifics about how to do the wiring you need to be specific about what you want.

Sorry for the confusion. Let me stay where I was, Series/Parallel & out of phase function for the neck PU...I'll check out the Jimmy Page wiring too, thank you guys. If it's doable, I'll just go ahead experimenting. Maybe use the neck volume push/pull to do Series/Parallel and neck tone push/pull for phase reverse? Doable?
