Post if you have Fly GAS!

I must admit, after the recent thread about the $10,000 Parker Fly, I want one. I went through their website and I'm GASing! Post if you have fly GAS!

Re: Post if you have Fly GAS!

I would love one. Especially if it had Tele guts, parker trem, and then everything else standard fly. Drool.

I've never been a fan of their looks, but with the way they play, I really don't care.

Re: Post if you have Fly GAS!

i would like them if they were Fender Telecasters or Gibson Les Pauls or even if they were Flying V's but...

Re: Post if you have Fly GAS!

I would absolutely get one- I am all for ergonomic, high tech guitars which conform to me, rather than the other way around.

Re: Post if you have Fly GAS!

They're great playing guitars, I'd get that orange Belew sig. in a second if I had the money around for it.

Re: Post if you have Fly GAS!

Aye, would love a Mojo or P-36 (the Southern Nitefly is the pricier version), which is the T-style (not the P42). Ash body, maple neck, Fishman piezo.

I did see one of these in a shop I went to a while back. Should've picked it up and given it a whirl. They're supposed to be cool for the $$.

I guess the only downer about Parkers is the incompatibility of pickups you buy in the store with the guitar's routs, but I suppose that only applies to those with an Eric Johnson chromosome.

If it came with Duncans, you can replace with most Duncans...if it came with DiMarzios, DiMarzio makes many models that fit the Fly.

I have a Mojo with a Distortion in the bridge and a Classic with a Steve's Special in the bridge.

Re: Post if you have Fly GAS!

I played Parker Fly Deluxe when it first came out. I loved it, especially the smooth trem- smoother than an Ibanez Edge. My only gripe was the neck was too small for me near the nut- I have big hands. I wish they made one with an 1 11/16 nut width.

My EBMM Axis with the same neck width works for me since the neck is a bit thicker

Ah, I see. My understanding was that the base plate of a typical pickup you'd buy in the shop would need to be modified to fit. But if you can order them that they fit a Parker then that solves the problem.

That's it, it's the P36 (tele) & P44 that i like !
Good value for money if you ask me !

I've had GAS for a Fly Mojo singlecut since they came out. I can't find anywhere to test drive one, though.

The Fly Mojo comes with a SD JB/Jazz set.

Is that really true about the Dmz pups? The originals are Dmz designed, and they are slightly smaller than standard pups.

I had MJ rebuild mine. I have a Brobucker (bridge), A2Pro (neck), and a CC (no longer installed).

I thought they were 1 11/16"?

I really like that $999.00 P44 all Mahogany Parker.
Also the tele-like P4-something . . . real great altenatives !!!

I have a p-44 upgraded with a hot-rodded humbucker set. Plays like butta. And you talk about versatility, this things got it. The piezos sound convincing if you get the EQ right and then mix them with the humbuckers and it sounds like an acoustic and electric in perfect harmony. That's a pretty cool thing to accomplish.

Re: Post if you have Fly GAS!

I had bad Fly GAS 'til I played one. I found the magnetic pickups only slightly fuller sounding than the piezos. As for ergonomics, depending on where you let it hang, the upper horn can dig into your ribs.

I admire the vision and innovation that Parker had, but the implementation didn't turn out to be my cup o' tea.

As I said before, MJ rebuilt my pups. Sounds great now. The Fly mojo comes with a SD set.

This is true. One of the reasons I'd like a singlecut. I rarely have difficulty with it, though.

To each his own. I doubt I'll ever be without a Parker. I started with a Nitefly (passive single-coils) and then got Fly Deluxe. I'd like a Mojo.

Re: Post if you have Fly GAS!

I LOVE them from what I have played and will own one eventually.
