Post rock tune

I'm starting to put together a few post rock songs for a little demo/EP. Here's the first idea I'm working on. This most likely is not the final arrangement, and note that this is just a render of the raw tracks. There's no mixing/EQ or post effects here, everything is flat volume, and I haven't had my drummer or bass player track anything yet. Let me know what you think, I'm open to constructive criticism!

Re: Post rock tune

This is great, love it !

The fact that i found it languishing way down the page with no comments is a sad indictment of the limited mindsets around here, but I certainly hope to hear more of your music. Thanks so much for sharing this.

Re: Post rock tune

IMO, it is begging for a melodic fretless bass part and/or vocals in the inimitable style of Elizabeth Fraser.

Thanks man! I'm actually pretty used to my posts in this room going without replies :laugh2:

I wouldn't put it past the guy I have playing bass on this project to bust out his fretless, I'm looking forward to hearing what he comes up with. Thanks for listening!

Re: Post rock tune

I love it! For some reason I'm hearing a jack-white esque beat, I don't know why.

But I also love the spacey feel its got going on...man I'm just hearing so much over this...post when its done

Thanks for listening & commenting! I agree, it could go many different ways. The bass player I'm working with is a big jazz guy, and the drummer is from the group in the video below. So, they come from very different places which should lead to some interesting stuff. I'll definitely post the finished product.
