hey Steve..pretty thick sound you got there...I'm curious, how do you go about recording and what kinda rig are you running? I'm having a hard time tweaking my tones to get good direct recording results (I have a line 6 vetta II)....it may be my pickup which is going to be replaced...

good sound!

Hails guys

i LIKE Your deep and thick crunchy sound of les paul + Your awesome marshall amp and the various pickusp you install on your les paul.
do you have any stratocaster? any with duncan distortion bridge?
well......could that marshall get MORE Gain to go on teh DEATH/THRASH Metal territory?

i will listen to the sounds, if i already did it.
and i will post one riff that i´m pretty sure i will mix with one of my next songs from my band.

Thanks guys - I played my Les Paul through my 2204 on all of those. I also used my attenuator. It sounds a lot better when I don't use it, but I can't really crank the amp real loud when I record at home. Speaker breakup really adds to the meaner Marshall tones.. so, the tones are sorta kinder-gentler brutal :D

The first one is at full volume, CC in bridge.
The second is drop-D, Diablo pickup, and amp at 2/3 max volume.
The 3rd (ugly stuff really :) ) is a Seth Lover Pickup and full amp volume I think.. it's pretty raspy, with a whole lot of attenuation.

Shreder I have a real cheezy setup right now. I use a 57 mic though a cheap sound card, in to an old version of Cakewalk. I am sure that you can get some sounds out of the Vetta. Do you record with the line outs? Does it have a stereo output?

I'm using the direct outs..the unbalanced ones...they're 1/4" guitar looking outputs....i'm just using the left (mono) cause I only have the one line in jack in my sound card...

Steve_R...now that was some throathy fat tones.....Marshalls are lusty amps:D
I always think of busty women with a good hip when I hear that rocktone...........must be why I like it soo much...hehe great clips.

Hey Rid I think of those women all of the time :18:

Heh, but seriously, you are absolutley right.. there is a serious connection there.. thanks man

Shreder are you sure that your line-input isn't stereo? I would be suprised at that. You may be able to pipe both of your outputs in to separate channels and it will make a really big difference.

Maybe you just need a 1/8 inch stereo adapter to cross-reference with your 1/4 inch outputs?

I have no idea if my line in's stereo or not..lol...I do have the 1/8 adapter to go on the 1/4 inch that goes into my sound card..

is there any way I could get some kinda y connector and pip both otuputs from the vetta into one input on my sound card?

Yes. You can probably find an adapter at an electronics place. You might have to get a couple adapters and use them together, if you can't find a single Y unit.

man, good distortion, but it´s too DRY. and a little bit Thin.
maybe more volume will give the tone more bass and an open tonal variety.
but good distortion
PURE VALVE?

I need to find a place to store mp3's. I registered with soundclicks but they never emailed me the access code.... What are some others I can use? Thanks.

Duncan Distortion(b) - heavy distortion(clip 01)

This was done with my beater Ibanez GAX70 with DDb with 6 allen hexpoles. I used the Rectifier mod. Sorry the sound sucks as it was direct with the V-amp2 into the sound card (Audigy Platinum)

maybe i should try that then..maybe that'll gimme a better sound than just using the mono output?
