Here's my epiphone with a custom 5, hee hee

Re: Post Your Les Paul Picture Thread

What did you have done custom with the distortions?

Just the mismatched color combo. I wanted a white bridge pup, and a black neck with gold screws. I asked, and so it was.

What's ironic is since it was non- uniform and has a knot under the tailpiece, it was considered a factory second, and Gibson originally painted it Alpine White

What you see on it now is a little amber stain, covered with several layers of golden yacht varnish which had cured and hardened over the years, sanded between each coat to give the thinnest possible finish

I am tinkering with color options. Any comments?

I had high hopes for the double cream with cream rings but alas it doesn't work like this, different shapes of cream. Apparently my Antiquities came with black rings and all my SD colored cream rings are hard are stone and have flat bottom. Plus I'm not sure I like the look with "triple cream" apart from the mismatch.

Also thinking about chrome or even gold hardware.

What would you do plastic wise, cover wise, bridge wise?

Vintage SD double cream DD in the bridge, some almost-Antiquity in the neck:

Black buckers. The bridge pickup is an APH1 which really zooms in this thing.

This is my trusty old Burny, BTW. A 1983 Super Grade.

Two more color combos in addition to my last post. What do you like?

Cream rings, dimebucker:

Zebra, black rings:

Prefer double blacks for that guitar.

I'd post pics of my Les Paul, but it's currently about 150mi away and has no electronics. I'll get around to fixing that at some point...

Re: Post Your Les Paul Picture Thread

Definitely reverse zebra (or just flip the pickup) for the neck. Zebra looks wonky there, with the light coil breaking in between the black coil and the fretboard.

Possibly reverse zebra for the bridge pickup as well.

Also needs a pickguard IMO.

I'm bringing along Jr. to play with the big boys today . Don't be too snotty- he's a tough little brat and he'll kick you right in the shin.
My newly finished LP. Jr. Not much to look at, but it sounds awesome. I am really getting handy at leveling/crowning frets too..aside from some buzz on the low strings, I got this thing set up to play low as it gets. All Brass hardware- Kahler Brass stoptail an brass posts, and solid Brass Pinnicle Nashville TOM and posts. I do NOT do Zemac.
I also had to shim both pickup pockets to be able to raise the P-90's up as close to the strings as I wanted( which is as close as possible).
As with all Nashvilles, I'm having to raise the stop bar quite a bit to precarious levels to keep the low strings from hitting the TOM. But I'm loving this;

P.S.; does anyone think this would look less "cheesy" with black knobs, or clear?
