I love seeing everyones main guitar on TGP so I thought I would start the same thread here!

What is your main guitar and why do you love it ?

Mine is a early 2000s Made in Korea Epiphone Dot in natural. Just has that full round warm sound and loves fuzz pedals. Nails that Queens of the Stone Age Burn the Witch sound.

Lets see yours!

Re: Post your main guitar

I have 2 that get the most play.
My #1 player guitar is this 1995 Washburn USA MG 102. I love the neck it sounds great and plays like butter!

My #1 stage guitar because of the number of tones I can pull out of it on the fly is my 07 PRS Custom 24. The 10 radius fights me as a lead player some but it sounds really good plays nice and gets SO many different tones on stage she normally will be one of the 2 guitars I have with me on stage when playing out.

Re: Post your main guitar

It took a lot of money, and a lot of time to build up that much money, but I put this together over the course of 9 months.

Re: Post your main guitar

I don't know if I really have a "main guitar" or a "Number 1" because I tend to pick a guitar based on the gig and whatever I need at any given moment. Sometimes I need a fat humbucker sound, sometimes only a Tele will do and sometimes only a quacky Strat will fit the bill.

That said if I I head to a gig and only take one guitar more often than not it is my 335.

It's a 1967 model that was originally a 12 string that suffered a hack conversion to 6 strings, multiple breaks and then a neck twist. I had it re-necked by master luthier Brian Monty in Canada and even though I poured a bunch of money into a guitar that most folks looked at as scrap and parts, it paid off and in the end it was well worth it.

Every time I mention this guitar I have to thank the forum bro that made this possible, so Laz if you see this thanks again for letting this baby go so I could bring her back to life!

Mine changes every month or so...this month it's this one:

The month before it was this one:

And I still love this one:

Re: Post your main guitar

As of right now, my main is this:

Lake Placid-y/Pelham blue Godin Radiator. I love it and it'll be around with me for a long time. I plan on fitting a Stetsbar to it at some point.

My #1 will probably end up being:

I'm going to be trading the Hamer carcass for one of these as soon as the dude packs and ships. I'm going to replace the knobs with the pearloid topped barrel knobs like on the Godin, and MAYBE even look into a full-sized pearloid pickguard for it. My only regret is the lack of bling on the neck of the SG400. I like binding and headstock adornments too.

Maybe down the road I'll trade up for an SG with all that junk on it later when I get the feel for it. Either way, I'm also thinking a Maestro-fake chrome tailpiece is in order. Ooh! maybe a pearloid one with a bigsby!

Re: Post your main guitar

For the most part it's this, in preference to a good number that cost considerably more. It could all change though next week...

Re: Post your main guitar

Chris, is that the Korina one? That and maybe one other PRS have ever got me seriously thinking of spending the money on one.

Nice. The only electric guitar I still lust for is a PRS Singlecut. Probably never get one but I'd sure like to.

It is. Being an SE, it's considerably cheaper than a significant proportion of my others, but it's kind of like my 'go to' guitar, especially since it's had the WLH set in there. I originally bought it as a test bed for pickups, but the WLH set has never been out of it.
