Post your main guitar

Re: Post your main guitar

Current #1- Warmoth Soloist
Zebrawood on mahogany, roasted maple neck, ebony FB, Supervee bridge

Huge sounding guitar, and super versatile. Nails that wall of sound LP tone with stratish practicalities.
I think my next build will be with a wood with more neutral mids, such as basswood, as opposed to the mahogany, for an even more versatile stage guitar (though I love that muscular honky mid mahogany thing). Also a neck single coil, as I find that more useful more often with my playing than an HB.

Such an awesome guitar! What pickups are in that?

My main guitar has changed from when I posted in 2014. lol

Now my main one is this MIA Fender Strat loaded with Fat 50s.

EVH frankenstein replica in the bridge, Dimarzio VV Heavy Blues 2 in the middle, and a Zhangbucker Pagey II custom spec in the neck.

I never figured you for an all single coil guy for your main guitar! What type/types of music do you play on it?

Dude that sounds like an awesome pickup combo! Any clips? :D

Ha! You know, I didn't think I would be an all single coil guy either...but this thing with these pickups just jives with me.

I use to play a lot of Contemporary Christian and Bluesy Rock but now I've moved to more of softer Rock and Easy Listening with a heavy Acoustic influence...so my playing has toned down a bit.

Re: Post your main guitar

Since this thread has risen back up, Im going to go on and update mine too.. I have this guitar that I just LOVE.. I try to MAKE others my main guitars and all, because the excite me more visually... (like my explorer or my Charvels) But whenever I get this guitar out, its like coming home and I always wonder why am I trying??

And its sister:

1997 US Washburn MG130 (Stevie Salas Sig model) The winning formula is it is essentially a strat shaped LP with a floyd.. Mahog body/set mahog neck, 24.75" scale, Schaller floyd. Stock with cool rails/cool rails/JB. The black one has a Custom 8 in the bridge, large brass block on the trem and is getting a push pull to split the cool rails. Best of all worlds to me..

I keep going back to my Charvels and explorer, but the shorter scale of this guitar gives me the slinky feel and comfort of a traditional shape..

My '94 Ibanez S-540LTD Sabre with handwound Sin "7th Sin" pickups (N/B) & a 'Lil Screamin Demon in the middle.

Most of the time I'm either playing this or my Jackson Pro Series Dinky (Lace Alumitone Deathbucker bridge/SD Hotrails in the neck..) ..both awesome playing guitars :bigthumb:

Re: Post your main guitar

2014 Les Paul Trad. Mojotone Harness w/ 50s wiring and Re-Wind T-Top clones. This is an old pic, she has gold top hats, metal jack plate, and is probably getting some Grovers soon.

Same for me with my #1... love the mahogany with superstrat feel. The black model you got just LOOKS like a player, don't even have to play it... nice :cool2:
