So I know that the JB is preferred with a 250k tone pot...but does that include a 250k volume pot as well? Seems to me like it would sound too skinny. Help?

It depends on the person. It's best to try both pots and/or various capacitors. Me, I actually LIKE the JB with 500K pots and a .047cuf capacitor like SD recommends in the little manual that comes with it. But to each h[is|er] own.
for me the JB really shines with a 500K volume pot and no tone pot or caps
many use or have used the JB this way
jerry cantrell, george lynch, jake e lee, the guy in ratt, marty friedman to name a few:smokin:
I use mine with a 500k tone pot and a 250k volume pot, with 2 old Lawrence humcanceling strat pickups. I also split the JB. I think I get a balanced tone. But I play more classic rock, blues & country.

yeah iu think the stle one plays is a big factor of what pots you should use
for metal and hard rock the 500K with no tone is best
for more mellow styles
a 250K is better:smokin:
I am curently using it with 250k pots on volume and tone. But I want to change it the 500k.I find it a bit darkand I honestly find it not shining. What kind of tome do you like and dont like?
I'd go for the 500K, that's what i use in my guitars...and you can easily get a Metal sound out of the JB! I like having the 500k, you can always turn down the tone knob to tame the treble, it's better to have 500K, that way you always have the option . In my opinion...
