I think they can both be used but an internet search for 6L6B and 6L6GC gives you much information like this. You probably want them balanced though ... using same tubes not one of each.

Go to groove tubes site, as well. Good descriptions there too. Hope this helps.

If it's not an ASAP thing ... I think the GCs are supposed to be better than Bs. But again a bit of research ... would just visit the sites.

They'll interchange but you'll have to rebias the amp. You'll have to rebias even if you bought a new set of the same tubes you have in there now.

JJ 6L6GC's are the finest 6L's I've come across! Like someone said here, re-biasing is needed.

cool. i did re-bias and re-balance it with the Bs. the pro reverb re-issue makes it easy to re-bias and re-balance things yourself. all i needed was a multimeter.

Some 6L6 tubes cannot take the voltage a 6L6GC can. Same for a 5881, they are all diferent tubes. Checkout KCA tubes and do some google searches. It's very confusing.

I would not use a 6L6B in any Fender amp made after 1960 and even some tweeds. It all depends on the voltages not only the bias.
