Remember as well its not just about wattage but the number of amps (not guitar amp) that an object draws.
Those little home spacers for example can draw about 15 amps which means in my home if I have one running and as much as turn on a lightbulb I blow the breaker.
Guitar amps though, be they 50 or 500 watts really won't draw that many amps so you'll be fine with any modern home wiring.
The wattage rating of the amp is the power its producing, not what it draws from the wall as they are different things.
I think you had it confused with volts, as a dryer for example runs on 240volts and needs a special plug and circuit in the home to run
