Powerbar / surge protector for rack?

I want to get a small powerbar for my rack.. for power conditioning. Trying to keep it cheap.

Would this be ok for powering a Line 6 Pod X3 and Carvin T100??

Other I was looking at is Monster Pro 800, but they are 4 times the price.

(I do realize these wont be as good as the $300+ rack units, but I just want it as a surge protector and ease of keeping my power all in one place)

Re: Powerbar / surge protector for rack?

A powerbar like you're talking about won't really do anything as far as line conditioning goes. It should work great for protecting against transient power spikes, and filtering upper frequency noise on your lines but won't help against brownout conditions. The Monster Power Pro 800 does exactly the same thing as the Furman, so you might as well save money and go with the Furman.

I'm using a power strip that was intended for home theater.

It has surge protection and EMI/RF filters on it and works very well. No problems or noise to report.

The Furman you show appears to be the same. Give it a go!

You can find Furman units on Ebay for pretty cheap, I remember I grabbed a 1U rackmount model w/ five or six outlets for probably $30 shipped back when I had a small rack setup.
