PowerHouse Stratocaster

Who has this PowerHouse Strat? Love/hate the boost?

Are the mid-boost circuits available to add one to my strat? Are there other mid-boost circuits that are available that are better than this Fender version?

Re: PowerHouse Stratocaster

I had a Powerhouse Strat & it was a bada$$ axe. I always forgot/didn't unplug & it burned out the battery all the time....which means it won't play without a battery, which annoyed me.

Eventually I sold it so I could buy a Tele (thanks HOSS!)..........

The boost was pretty cool & I think it is available as an ad on. The Clapton boost adds 25dB I think, where the Powerhouse was a 12dB.

Check with Thames.....I think he was selling one a while back. :13:

:D

Nice guitar! However I had the pre-2000 model, with poplar body. Considerably thinner sounding, but still a very nice guitar! I'd grab another Deluxe Series anytime!

Re: PowerHouse Stratocaster

the powerhouse strats are like fenders hidden secrets IMO...at around $500-600 they are a great bang for the buck and most people tend to look past them for some reason...they have med jumbo frets over the vintage of the standard along with a full size reissue trem with the big trem block, not the tiny block of the standards. i love my powerhouse although i did gut the electronics out of it since i had no need for a mid boost, so i can't help you with mid. boost questions. but the guitar itself is great IMO.

Re: PowerHouse Stratocaster

I just bought a black one with a maple board at a ridiculously low price. It's a great guitar... vintage-sounding but with a modern edge. The midboost works GREAT for cutting through the mix and the pickups are single coils but there's a dummy coil hidden under the pickguard for noise cancellation purposes and it works pretty well.

Here's a guitar-parts.com listing for the Clapton Boost Kit, which IS sold seperately; http://guitar-parts.com/content/estore_details.asp?product=707 I don't know of any other mid-specific boosts.

Here's a pic of her!
