PRACTICE RIFF in Am

Re: PRACTICE RIFF in Am

Oh, and nuntius, do I really need to give you anymore praise? You rip new ass-holes on every song you do! :)

Re: PRACTICE RIFF in Am

There you go...

I couple of flaws but I don't have much time for perfection these days...

This was done with my Traynor YCV40 and the Behringer direct box (not my mic).

The overdirve is spiced up with a DOD 250 pedal... a little miracle for 39.99 if you ask me... VERY impressed by this little yellow thing.

At the end, I also added a boss OD3 :saeek: you'll see why :D

Very fun BT, thanks TO... probably not my best execution but a lot of fun anyway.

There you go:

MY TAKE

Enjoy and a great weekend to all!

Peace and reconciliation to all my American friends!

Re: PRACTICE RIFF in Am

Sly that feedback at the end is awesome!

The tone is great and the playing fits, sounds good and doesn't go over the top speedwise anywhere, nice work man :D

Which pups are in your Ibie this time? It seems everytime you do a new clip you've got a new set in :laugh2:

Re: PRACTICE RIFF in Am

Thanks nuntius... actually, it's very funny, cause I traded my Super Distortion for a JB (with JB_from_hell) so in the meantime, I had to put my FRED in the bridge position... so it's a DMZ Fred pup :D ... which is actually quite good IMO. I'm now learning that PUs reacts a lot differently with tube amps. This PU sounded shrill with a SS amp.

And don't worry, I CAN'T be over the top speed wise... this is pretty much my maximum speed anyway :) But it's true I felt the BT required some speed limitation, I didn't want to just trow a bunch of notes at it.

I suspected people would love the feedback.. I do anyway :D

Re: PRACTICE RIFF in Am

Nice work, how do I "load" this into my computer? Id like to take a stab at it, but I dont know how to DL it??????????????????????

Re: PRACTICE RIFF in Am

SC is down.. which i'm kind of happy, cos if not, i'd have to listen to your insult to the uniform of tight jeans and leather with the god awfull wailing ;) (guess where this is from)

nevermind i got the mp3. your aproach kind of reminds me of adrian smiths playing. here's why. at some points you struggle with the notes and it seems you're gonna go off and wont pull it off, but then you entangle yourself from your previous line with such a fluid run i just HAVE to hate you. sweet mother of god, thats nice tapping at the end!

T.O
thats a wicked take ben! love it. i'm such a sucker for double harmonies it's unbeliveable. awesome!

Sly_d
very melodic, tone is cool and the playing is very nice. mucho sweet feedback at the end, very rocking, straightforward. and i say again, the sound is very good

i'm actually very amazed at how many diferent people can make so many diferent takes at this and all make it sounds beyond awesome.

i'm gonna take a stab at this sometime this weekend. it's 11:30pm and i came home from work about 20 minutes ago

Re: PRACTICE RIFF in Am

Thanks Davey... I really think that I found MY sound with the Traynor and the DOD pedal... I wouldn't say a signature sound because that would be quite pretentious for a hobbyist, but at least I'm getting closer to "that tone in my head".

We're waiting for your take bro...

Thnx, Biu!
Why don't you take a crack at it? :)
Someday I might partake in a Forum Dude jam, but not right now :) Besides, I'd only be shown up!

Nice, Sly! Ibanez=pwnz! My hats off to you, sir, from one Ibanez freak to another :)

Re: PRACTICE RIFF in Am

Sly, your take has a great swaggering 80's feel to it. I like it a lot!
I agree with Davey -- I think it's cool how the backing track has allowed everyone to put their signature style on top of it, from Sly's + Nuni's single solo instrumentation to my harmonied madness, to kmc's veritable GUITAR ARMY! :D

I will try to come up with another backing track soon.

Re: PRACTICE RIFF in Am

I really wanted to had harmony, but I had no time... I knew exactly what I wanted to do but I had to settle for a simpler version... post more, this is very inspiring! Your BT are always great TO!

And yes, I guess this really shows my age... I'm an 80s teenager! :D

Re: PRACTICE RIFF in Am
