Hello all,
I have a PRail neck pickup and Triple shot installed in my Godin A6 Ultra.
i plugged it in for testing... using a Bose S1 speaker on battery power. The noise was unbearable. The pickup sounded nice but couldn’t get rid of the noise/hum. The only way it would disappear is if I used my hand and touched the preamp ground (had the preamp cover off during testing).
so obviously a grounding issue.
But... when I added power to the Bose S1 (plugged into wall outlet) or plugged into a JBL powered speaker there was no noise at all.
so... obviously something with how the PRail and Triple shot react with a battery powered speaker. I have never had this problem with the Godin A6 and its original humbucker (or any other guitar).
the system is wired exactly the way Seymour Duncan’s instruction outlined. I have checked all ground connections and everything is clean/good.
what do you think?
my next idea is to add a ground stripe from my strings to the ground in the preamp (so when I touch the strings the noise goes away).
thoughts?
thanks
