Preamps for SMB4A?

Hi Everyone

This is my first post, which i feel kinda guilty about. I did a search on this but it still didn't answer my questions - so i was wondering if the SD Brains Trust would know better?

I'm looking at buying a SMB4A pup to go in my Yamaha bass, and the get the STC-3M3 preamp with it. The Seymour Duncan website says that those two go together for the Stinger tone I'm after.
My problem is that when I spoke to Warmoth, they told me that they DON'T go together......I'm very unsure of this, and as I live in Australia, there's no way to return a bad choice.

What do I do?

Thanks fella's

Hey Village:

Yes, the STC-3m3 preamp goes just fine with the SMB-4a pickup. And you can tell 'em I said so.

Enjoy.

PS: Thanks for posting. And don't gloat too hard to the Warmoth Boys when you get ungodly tone from your Yamaha.

;)

Thats just music to my ears. (ahem - no pun intended)
I'll be off to get a STC-3M3 in that case, and install it ASAP.
I'll let ya know how i go.

Thanks again,
Simon
