Predictions: Bugera.

Bugera(Behringer) is coming out with a couple of Peavey knockoffs. Do you guys think they'll be cool or not so cool?

Re: Predictions: Bugera.

I cant wait, I probably wont be gigging one (hear behringer has reliability issues) and if it sounds even close to the sounds of the others Iwant one crazy bad. I would be extremely excited if they put out a 40watt version of the 333(xxx). But like any other amp, I want to play it before ill decide its cool or not.

Re: Predictions: Bugera.

If they're anything like other behringer products, I'm guessing they'll sound pretty good, But just be put together really baddly. Every behringer product i've tried has always sounded good, when it worked. But They always seem like they'de just fall apart if ya used em to often.

That said I'm still planning on checking they're new amps out. I mean If they sound as good as most other behringer stuff, and don't seem to Flimsy, I might even wanna buy one. But I'de never use it to play out, just use it for recording. I'de never gig with an amp I wasn't 100% confident was totally reliable.

Re: Predictions: Bugera.

I'll be curious to learn about the build quality.

When I was talking subminiature components that Behringer uses Christian said "at some point during the 70s people decided they wanted their Big Macs and fries supersized and their resistors undersized".

I think there's a lot of truth to that.

Re: Predictions: Bugera.

I checked the site out and they claim that the amps are hand built FWIW.:smokin: I'm really interested in the 6202 as it says they will accept 6L6's AND EL34's! Imagine a 6505 w/ EL34's!!!! BITCHIN':smokin:

Re: Predictions: Bugera.

Not without a few mods and from what others have said, the el34s don't sound as good as the 6l6s. Also, it's said that EVH used to run one master 5150 with 3 el34s (with a few different wiring on the pins) for awhile.

So the EL34's don't sound as good? That's disappointing. They sound positively smashing in the JSX.:smokin:

It really depends on the amp, but I can't see the 5150 sounding that great with EL34's. It's midrange quality is so heavy as is, and it doesn't have ALL that much bass, so throwing in more midrange in a different place and having even less bass might not be the best thing for it.

If I still had my 5150, I'd run it through my JSX's poweramp and let you guys know how it sounded, post clips, etc.

I'll be borrowing a friends for some reamping sessions in the next 2-3 months, so when that happens, I'll slave the 5150 preamp into the EL34 poweramp and see what happens.
