For smaller stuff I like the JBL PRX615's either with a QSC or JBL Sub, for slightly bigger systems and monitoring I like QSC and Quest. All this is mainly because it is what I have worked with at venues and is fairly affordable there is a lot of better more high end gear. Turbosound and Martin stuff sounds great as well. I think a good crossover, a sub and a decent room go along way. Outdoor is a different game as even really nice line arrays can sound a bit off in big windy outdoor areas.

For my last band, we used to put on shows and we'd promote ourselves as well at halls just using our own PA and we got some good sounds out of Peavey cabs with Crown XTi amps.

We have a set of JBL's with a 15" & horn and just bought a set of Peavey's with 2 15" & horn A 1200 watt power amp and 2 500 watt amps in the mixer.

If you can afford Turbo Sound more power to ya. It's how I'd roll if I could afford it.

We use JBLs ...single 18 subs with dual 15 tops...we also have dual 18 subs and bigger tops for outdoor shows....good stuff.

If I were rich and not carrying my own gear, I would love to have EAW.....very nice, but pricey.
