preliminary pickup heads up

I will soon be awash in replaced pickups. :laugh2: Look through the list and see if ya might be interested in any of them for purchase, trade, etc. The Strat pickups are available now and the rest will be coming on line over the next month or so. Not really sure on the timing for the '54 LP Custom or Tele. I am waiting for MJ to finish up some custom numbers for those two:fingersx: I remember that someone was looking for a staple pickup a while back.
1. 3 sets of Burstbuckers with pots and Bumblebees $100 per complete set
2. Original P90 and Staple A5 from '54 LP Custom RI w/ pots, etc. $90 for set, $65 for staple pickup alone. (new staple pickup from Seymour or Gibson cost well north of $200!!!!)
3. Fender CS pickups and pots from '94 40th Ann '54 RI strat $60
4. Fender 57/62 pickups and pots from '62 Strat RI $40
5. Pickups and pots from '52 Tele RI $40
6. Pickups and pots from 2001 Firebird V $40
7. And the original pickups from the Mexi-Tele. These can be a charitable donation to some young pup who needs new pickups.....lol

Re: preliminary pickup heads up

yes sir. They are from the 1996 '62 Reissue. Full set including the pots. I was getting some noise from the volume pot. I replaced the whole set with Fralins and the pots, etc with the RS kit. The ones from the '54 are the real deal. Cloth wire, etc. The Strat pickups do not have covers because I used the original covers on both the Fralins and Antiquities. I could include the aftermarket covers if i can find them.

Hey Joe.....I stand corrected. The 57/62's have the kinda off white Fralin covers on them. No covers on the '54's Both of them are semi-complete wiring harnesses still soldered together since i replaced the pots, switch, etc, on both guitars. '52 Tele will be the same way, and it has not been rewired to modern specs. I will include the extra cap that came in the case.

Re: preliminary pickup heads up

I'm kinda interested in the staple P-90
Can you supply an ohm reading and a pic
Thanks

Re: preliminary pickup heads up

Hey Dom. I cannot supply the ohm reading...sorry. It is an A5 pickup and is supposed to be a bit hotter than a standard A2 P90. We can ask MJ how hot she ios winding the one I am having made as i just told her to make a replacement and didn't ask for it to be souped up. I am having a bit of trouble with the camera, but i am trying. The staple pickup is the size of a P90, but I have been told that it is considerably deeper and it installs differently. Mods are necessary to fit it in a P90 rout. It has two screws on the corners of the cover in addition to the center mounted screws of a P90. Which is a rather long winded way of saying it won't just drop into your SE..lol

Re: preliminary pickup heads up

Ok....funny thing about the staple pickup is that they are so uncommon, i guess it costs Duncan and Gibson a lot to essentially sustom make the parts....no economy of scale. At the end of the day, you could probbaly buy this ANd have MJ rewind it and still be at least $50-75 cheaper than new.

Did these pickups and pots come stock in a Fender Tele? If so, what year and country of manufacture (Japan, US) is that Tele?
