Prima Pickups Delta Dust Devil Telecaster set - *SOLD*

These pickups are super versatile and respond amazingly well to your volume knob. With the volume on 10, the bridge is really big, fat, and punchy, but roll it back just a bit and it is really snappy and cleans up like a vintage tele bridge pickup. And the neck pickup is really clear and glassy, a lot like a good strat pickup. These are built with a mixture of Alnico II and Alnico V rod magnets. The neck is 9.5k and the bridge is 14.7k. Most people would think that pickups wound this hot would be really dark and muddy, but these are actually scatter wound, so they are super crisp and clear have a lot more character than your average Tele pickups. The lead wires are full length and are the vintage style cloth covered push back wire. They also have a really awesome and unique relic design on the bobbins and plates.

*Product Description*
The Delta Dust Devil is the ultimate expression of Telecaster® sound built on a totally custom fiberboard masterpiece. Extraordinary designs, colors, and textures are available as standard, all of them one of a kind.

Pair that with uncompromising tone , clarity, and definition, and you have a pickup that will breathe new life into your guitar, your playing, and your enjoyment of all that is the Telecaster®.

Prima builds the absolute finest Tele® pickups anywhere!. The notes and string dynamics are super-unreal, you will wonder why you put up with those standard issue Tele® coils. Like Leo Fender said...You'll never find a machine that can wind a better pickup than a talented Handwinder.

You will get full use out of your tone knob with these elegant coils. I wind very slowly, use a broad scatter, sometime sweeping completely diagonal across the width of the pickup, along with other techniques I have picked up over the years. Parallel winds stacked on top of each other create an ever increasing amount of mid gain, muddiness, and lack of clarity.
This is the same reason why the power company doesn't lay power lines next to each other and power-line poles have a big T at the top. Electromagnetic interference or "cross-talk" is bad for electric power, telephone lines and yes, magnetic coils (ie. your guitar pickup). It is the reason pickups get muddy the more copper you wind to increase the dc resistance ohms. I hesitate to to call it power, because there is more to a pickups output level than its DCR reading!

They're super great pickups! More on the modern side of tone spectrum, but they are super versatile just by working the volume and tone knobs. He's a smaller builder, so his stuff is great quality, and he doesn't charge an arm and a leg for his pickups.
