I've got a Celtic Amps new one about to finish up soon. Traditional blackface fenderish cosmetics, weber 25 watt 10F150T, lightly doped speaker. This one will be a prototype of a model I will offer. Normal price will end up being $1100. This first one will sell for less. PM me if you are interested.

Re: Princeton Reverb Clone

Where is everybody on this ?

The Princeton Reverb is one h*ll of an amp. I have a '76 SF and it has everything one could ever ask for in a small amp.

I just can't understand.....you guys want great tone, here is your chance.

Scott...Maybe some pics would create gas. I'd love to see it because I admire your work so much.

scott - for us uninitiated, what are the specs? ... approximate wattage? tubes used? controls? speaker size?

good luck

Re: Princeton Reverb Clone

10" speaker, 6V6 power tubes, 5U4 rectifier, various preamp tubes, wattage is less than a Deluxe Reverb (22 watts). I'll have to check when it is completed, but probably in the 15-16 watt range.

One of the sweet aspects about these circuits is that the tremolo is bias modulated, not the little opto bug that most blackface circuits use. I much prefer this type of trem. Tube driven spring reverb as well.

vol, bass, treb, reverb, dual trem controls (intensity and speed)

And, yes, when photos are available, I'll post them up.

My first amplifier growing up was a PR. I've been looking forward to this build for a long long time.

One of you Fender nuts needs to grab this, QUICKLY!

In my completely "unbiased" opinion, Celtic Amplifiers are the BEST!

Re: Princeton Reverb Clone $950

How far does this amp have to go before it breaks up? The Caitlin, as you know, breaks up very early (per design).

Re: Princeton Reverb Clone $950

Crap. I was hoping for something about the same power and size as the Caitlin, but with lots of headroom -- like a miniature Super Reverb.

Re: Princeton Reverb Clone $950

That brenna 40 might be undergoing a change. It's already pretty much a Super Reverb AB763 circuit. But, if I can add a bias modulated trem of a PR to it, I might add that in. Maybe like I've done with the Aislinn, make a brenna 6V6 and a Brenna 6L6 models.

I've got a Super Reverb RI, but as a 4x10, it's pretty heavy luggage. I really love the clean tone and lush reverb on it, though.

Re: Princeton Reverb Clone $950

I saw your thread on weight lifting. I think you need to carry that 4x10 around a bit more and bulk up son. ;)
