hey guys
i think i got a bit of a gibson bug in my faded series V

it was all workin fine until last night when my neck humbucker started to sound really soft and it also sounded as if the tone knob was completley rolled off

then u switched to the bridge humbucker
and it sounded loud and bright

do u guys kno wats happened?
heres a little clip i did of the prob - i start with a riff with the OK bridge humbucker, and then move to the neck humbucker
heres the link!
props to Young Angus for letting me use his webspace!

any thoughts??? :smack:

Re: prob with my gibson v!

I'd replace the tone pot it sounds like it may be choking & using the capacitor full time.

Re: prob with my gibson v!

Some kind of short somewhere. Could be anything! Might be as simple as an uninsulated lead off of the cap touching something uninsulated and hot...like the hot terminal of the volume pot. Or something failing inside a pot. Could be anything. It'll be something very simple, what ever it is, but you'll have to go inside and look around. Lew
