Hey there, I am an older SF Metal Band guy. I now in working Technology, despite most times I earning surprisingly decent living.. Compared to when I was broke playing metal band about to be signed. Life is so dull The professional life is mind numbing about as exciting as a worm fight.
In those days a headlining club not arena's, lol provided an endless supply of lets say art enthusiasts who were incredibly happy, excited, and accommodating. It wasn't until grunge hit and the record offers 3 spec deals, and 1 final contract offer was handed to me "just as nirvana was breaking" listing 1 album/some touring, no video - 100k NO! the party had ended.
A few years earlier I was reading an article about Blackly Lawless signing a $5M deal with Capital. The hi-end videos suddenly looked excessive. Lets be honest, Poison didn't help things either. A Good band but boy did they make what was once a massive rock n roll Arena Rock presentation ala: Judas Priest/The Cult/Guns/Dio/Danzig/Zombie etc. . look silly. Simply by doing the same type of video BUT they were laughing while looking continuously into the camera and at the same time spraying silly string while of shooting 200lbs of confetti every where that suddenly seemed to make a mockery of something that always was bad/ass, impressive and amazing to witness. . Go to any nut house and you'll see many people locked in those buildings, and a god number of them continually laughing at jokes no one else can hear but them as well LOL You do the math haha
I would of loved to be the EMT that took Bret to the hospital after the heart or some serious problem? If I would have been there; after I got him stabilized I would have started covering him with 4 cans of silly string laying on the stretcher and then poured a shopping bag of confetti on top the silly string as he was being wheeled in. If the 1st doctors that approached him were all laughing hysterically, that would have been just about perfect..
OK my reason for the post- I have a PRS One - I thought installing a SD Vintage 90 would improve my tone. I just removed the old pickup, only soldered the two leads and re-soldered back to where the OEM p-up leads were. and strung it up. I have had original Les Paul Specials Jr's w/Gibson P90's. And I am aware of the pickup can squeal when the amp is cranked. But my guitar is not making that kind of noise. Plugged into an amp it is quite unless I take my hands off the strings? Then a buzz can be heard not loud like a ground loop 60 cycle buzz. Does this most likely mean the bridge grounding wire may have come lose? I did not touch it replacing the pick-up. But if the guitar makes a 60 cycle electrical sounding buss when I take my have off the strings, that seems to be a bridge ground thing? Or ? If any one has has an idea or has corrected this hands off string buzz thing before I would welcome the advice. Take care brothers.....
Cheers, best of wishes
