problem with g string sustaining

I have no idea what is causeing it. I have messed around with the heigth of the string and pickup my intonations is right on. But for some reason my g string only sustains about half as long as my other strings. What could be causing this?

I would try a new string first. If not the problem check the saddle on the bridge for any burrs. Maybe pickup height.

+1, also check the nut slot to see if it is normal.
