Problem with Marshall

I have a problem with my JCM 900, AGAIN. This time, the reverb on both the channels has stopped working, and sometimes the volume level of the amp will just DROP and begin to distort very early, then it will spring back to normal, and then dip again. I hope i only have to replace my valves...

Re: Problem with Marshall

hmm, that ain't too good. Is it possible to look at the valves when your amp is on? Cos you can sometimes tell if they are on their way out... how long have you had those valves in? I think they need to be changed every 6 months with heavy use....

Re: Problem with Marshall

I have used a JCM900 for a jam just this past week. And the reverb wasn't working for both channels. :(
I wonder what it is...

Sounds like your output tubes are going out. If you have a spare matched set (correct tube type for your amp of course), install them and see if it works.

Re: Problem with Marshall

Your amp's symptoms are usally what happens when the tubes are burnt. Try some new tubes in there and everything should be fine. If the problem persists, take it in and have it looked at... but replacing the tubes should fix the problem :)
