i was wondering if anyone knows what my problem is, every once in a while my neck humbucker goes really low volume and clean when im playing distorted leads. it sounds like i just flipped it on the clean channel but i dont. then i strum it really hard and it starts cracking and goes back to the way it was? and this only happens seldomly, but i was at a jam session today and i was taking a solo and it went really clean on me then went back. if anyone has any suggestions, please post o ya and im playin thru a les paul if that makes a difference, and i know its not an amp problem cause it only happens on my neck humbucker.

If your pickup has a cover on it,see if you can recreate the problem by tapping on the cover..if that doesn't show the problem, try messing with your wires within the guitar...Sounds like either your coil is getting grounded by the cover or you have an intermittent connection within the wiring cavity...Check your wires and all grounds..

Yup . . . I was gonna say, this has the classic sound of a bad solder joint.
