problem with steinberger tuners on new firebird.

I just picked up one of the 2014 firebirds so far I really like it. But I went to change the factory strings last night everything was going good until I got to the B string. No matter what I do I can not get the string out. Its completely stuck in the tuner I tried pulling with pliers tried to push another string through nothing. It will not budge all I have managed to do is break the string off. So now all I have to try to grab onto is about half an inch on one side.
It is very frustating and disappointing as I spent $1600 on it not even a week ago.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could try?

There is the actual tuner portion on the underside of the headstock and the part on top is merely the lock which clamps the string.... so you simply need to turn the bottom tuner counter clockwise until you can see the hole which the string goes through and then turn the lock counter clockwise and you should be able to slide the string out with little effort.

Yeah I have tried all of that I even went as far as taking it apart and off the headstock to try to work on it. I loosened the back as far as it will go and I took the clamp all the way off. Still nothing all of the other strings came off no problem but after 3 hours total I still can't get this one to come out.

Maybe someone prior to you,.. broke them by overtightening which is prone to happen, for as solid as they are the tuners are quite fragile in a sense.

Gibson is sending me a new tuner. They said it sounded like the clamp was stuck. Since I just putchased it new he said something probably happened to it at the factory before it shipped out. Now I just have to wait 7-10 days for it to get here.

I live in Brazil and I have a Firebird 2014 model I bought at Guitar Center in Moline ... The G string it's completely stuck in the turner ...
Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could try?

Try a local Gibson dealer if there is one. Or contact the Brazilian distributor.
