All you producers out there ... Why dont we talk through producing a tune. What do you keep in mind? What is your starting point? What influences the decisions you make? Any sure fire starting points? How do you inspire and produce instruments? Bass? Guitars? Drums? Keys? Singers?

Lets hear some thoughts guys!

Record as much as possible - rehearsals, run-throughs, first takes, etc. You never know when you'll nail a track and never be able to get the same energy or inspiration from it.

Yah man totally, its all about being able to catch the moments as they happen. One thing that I find that helps is learning what inspires people to "that" place which inspiration happens ... for some its the atmosphere, others its encouragement to explore the emotion of the track.
