project axe help

so a friend of mine gave me some kind of strat copy (not sure what brand) SSS pickup configuration, and i wanted to make it as simple as possible so i removed both tone pots since i don't use them and now it sounds very shrill. any suggestions about how i can get rid of some of the treble or add some bass to the sound.
Thanks in advance

*i am thinking about adding stacked humbuckers in at some point, at least in the bridge position*

Re: project axe help

you do realize that removing the tone pot will make your guitar sound alot brighter and louder right? so you should be really careful when choosing pickups for that kind of a configuration

Re: project axe help

Wire a master tone pot... Wire back in the tones pots you removed, stuff like that.

yes i'm aware of that, but since it was just a basic starter guitar with no real value, i wanted to make it look real beaten and junkyard, the simpler something is the more i like it lol
