Hmmm... I know I don't want to copy his paint job exactly, but I'm considering a new paint job for it.
Definetly gonna be buying some Sperzel locking tuners...

My very first solder job on a guitar, and it worked perfectly the first time. That was a plesent surprise.
I owe everyone who gave me help with what solder equipment to buy a big THANK YOU!
You guys rock!

Are you going to go with a picguard....or leave it as is? Frankenstrats are awsome to play. I have one that has had a ton of work done on it, and it's a fun guitar to pickup and play!

Me to, for now it's staying like that, except for the Sperzel Locking tuners that I will soon be adding. Otherwise that F***ed up pickguard and Gibson Humbucker are staying on.
The guitar is for rock, rock 'n roll, and rockin' out. and it works great.
I'm very happy for right now, some modifications will be coming in the future but for now it's done enough.

Re: Project: Frankenstrat ~ Almost done PICS!!!

I've played Eddie style strats like this one myself. I like the broken look.... Like there has been some damage and it has been repaired anyway it could be done.... I had a white one set up almost like that one but i added paint spots all over it. I took model paint and flicked it at it. I used about 4 different colours..... Saddly my frankenstrat was a crappy Kramer and it fell apart. But many many many many people loved the way it looked and i have been thinking of making another one but out of better quality parts like this one.

sounds very kool. I like the paint flickin' idea, very original. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with the finish on this one, but for now it's staying like that.

That looks kickass man! Just PLEEEEEZ don't stripe that body up. I get so tired of seeing that. Do something original if/when you decide to do something paint wise! Hell I think it looks sweet like it is!

Glad that pickup worked out for you!

Yeah, thanks again man, I look forward to your results of comparing the Bill Lawrence pups. Don't worry, I won't stripe it... but if you think of a new idea for a kool paint design, send me a PM, I'm open to ideas, but for now it'll just stay like that.

Re: Project: Frankenstrat ~ Almost done PICS!!!

True story this!
Got my first serious Rally Navigator/Co-driver roll by 'winning' a colouring in competition, the only rules that the two colours were bright orange and very dark green.
Dark green with stick on orange spots, lovely sprayed on to self adhesive vinyl.
Bizarre look was an understatement AND it is still remembered by those who saw it 15+ years ago. Just another claim for infamy! Wish I had a pic. to post.
The guts of this is run a competition with a limited range of colours and very easy DIY techniques, masking that sort of thing.
