Project I've been working on.

For everyone that remembers the threads about the Hondo I got from my uncle, I'm finally working on it!

Anywho, so far we've routed for another humbucker, primed/sanded/primed/wet sanded and actually stripped all the nasty clear finish off the neck/fingerboard!(Not sure if when it's a solid maple neck/fingerboard, if both are just called the neck) The guitar should be getting painted quite soon and I'll be getting some GFS crunchy pat zebra humbuckers for it also!

A few questions I have.

Do you guys think I should put a toggle switch in or just leave it?

What do you guys think about pearl black finish? I like the idea of a nice sharp finish..

And decals or just leave it?

Re: Project I've been working on.

If it was mine i would jsut go one volume and one tone

Black is a bit over done i think but it would look nice. How about orange?

It would be easier too!

I love the idea of something more vibrant than black, but my neighbor already has some black pearl automotive paint which being that I don't have to buy it cuts down costs. :)

Do you think just sharp pearl or harsh metal flakes? Also I'll ask him to see if he has some other colors but last time I checked he didn't. Plus, even though they're so common, I don't own a black guitar yet and I've been wanting one..

Re: Project I've been working on.

I'd do a toggle into a single volume pot Charvel style, it would be very fitting of a guitar from that era

Re: Project I've been working on.

Yeah, like that, but I would do it the other way around so you can access the volume knob while playing. I would definitely go with a toggle and a volume over a volume and tone.

Haha. As of now, I'm going to be using a strat style trem.

I honestly don't love the headstock like it is, but I feel bad removing all of the hondo from it!

Re: Project I've been working on.

Do you know where I could happen to find a wiring diagram for this?

1 volume 1 humbucker. You will have to plug a hole unless you did a kill switch, blower switch or coil tap hehe

I use to be able to live without the tone control but now i realize it's pretty much essential.
