Project update...

Do y'all remember this guitar I got last year for cheap?

.... Well, it has started to get a facelift.

What do you think. I went with a white base, added some glitter sparky paint for effect and then started to put costs of lacquer on it.

Re: Project update...

I love everything bar the nub-stock :grumble:

Wasn't that guitar worth a bit? ESP japan custom or is it some production model?

I looked all over the net for any worth on it and found nothing useful. The paint had already started to peel off anyway.

Re: Project update...

Damn I love the Star shape, you sir have lit the spark in me. I need to get mine ready. It´s been waiting for 9 months for fret leveling due to my service.

Re: Project update...

Thanks....Im looking into hardware for it now, and im torn between chrome, black (dont necessarily think black would look good on this one), or white. What would your opinion be?

Re: Project update...

Go with chrome. Polish up the Floyd as best you can with steel wool
And then give the rest of the chrome hardware a similar patina.
Chrome pickup surrounds would finish it off.

Re: Project update...

Thanks Trey for posting those pics. The internet didn't like the file type or something.

Anytime man! Happy to help!...sorry I took the "likes" for the pics ;)

Well, I always wanted a white with gold hardware. However, the Floyd rose that was on this one is a chrome one but I wish I could afford to get it re dipped or find another cheap knock off that would fit it.

While I personally think black would look best I don't see why Chrome wouldn't have an awesome look.

Re: Project update...

I think Im gonna clean up the old floyd that was on it and put it back on. I found a clear volume knob as well for it and all i need to get now is the chrome pickup rings.

Finished putting the Floyd back together. All parts are moving now except for a rogue Low E saddle. But, thats just a minor thing...All parts are still working as they should.

Re: Project update...

Ok. Well after sitting and curing almost 3 weeks. The sandpaper and water came out for some fun tonight. What a mess (wife wasn't too happy with the mess but oh well) 2000 grit and all is sanded. Smooth as a baby's bottom. Got to get the rubbing compound tomorrow and apply it tomorrow night hopefully. Posting pictures after all is complete.
