PRS 245 se Pickup suggestions needed.

I have recently acquired a 245 se and I really cant dig the pickups. It is going to be the back up to my Esp Ec 1000 which has a jb/59 set up in it. Im looking for suggestions as to what to maybe replace the pickups with. I play in a cover band and we play everything from blackberry smoke, allman brothers to alice in chains and metallica. So it needs to be versatile. I like a tight low end with some good mid range punch and nice clarity when it comes to treble. I was considering a Jb/jazz combo just to toss it up but thought id get other suggestions from the board. Specs for Prs are: mahogany body, thin maple cap, mahogany neck and rosewood fretboard.

I am a newbie here.
I was just about to post this exact question. I wanted to also post at prs, but the process to get into the forum is like ft Knox.... While I am waiting to be authorized, I thought I would ask,,, I have the jb / 59 on order, but I wanted to see if anyone else owned a SE 245 and tried these or any other combo.

The custom custom is not tight enough IRCC. You would probably dig the pearly gates neck pickup, but the Jazz neck pickup would probably suit your needs better though.
For the bridge I reccomend the Alternative 8. I find that pickup to be EXTREMLY versatile.

I just installed a JB in bridge of PRS SE Tremonti custom and it is a monster. PRS stock 245's are actually made by G&B PickupCo and r better than most stock pups. Next im installing a PearlyGatesPlus in neck. Cant wait !

I briefly owned an SE Singlecut. (25.0" scale length.) It came to me with PRS McCarty humbuckers. I changed to PRS #7 humbuckers, then sold it.

At roughly the same time, I acquired a pre-owned single cutaway PRS SE Soapbar. I fed that a pair of Lindy Fralin overwound P90s. Never looked back. Still got this guitar. It pooped all over the SE Singlecut.

Whole Lotta Humbuckers maybe. I have them in my Les Paul and they are super versatile. Firm low end, juicy mids, clear treble..

Im also using a Fender Showmaster HH with PearlyGatesPlus in bridge and SH-1 in neck as well as PRS SE w JB and PGP. Both set neck guitars tho. One mahogany/maple cap and other Alder/Bubinga top. Showmaster is bigger sounding than most guitars i find. Dont know why.
