PRS 4th positon pickup combination - which coils specificall?

I will preface this by saying that there are many diagrams on the web that show different variations in pickup orientation for the 5 way rotary scheme in the Custom 22 / 24, but I like the notch tone of the 4th position (next to the bridge position) in this video and notice that the screw coils are as normal on the outsides. This is the way I prefer to mount them.

If anyone knows precisely which coils are used in that position, please inform me so I can configure the super switch accordingly. I believe they are in parallel. but the other 2 parallel coils in position 2 have a much different sound which is too much like position 3 (the series coils). Thanks

On my '96 Custom 22, position 2 is the two slug coils and position 4 is the two screw coils.

Hmm, no hum cancelling on that one? Coils facing which direction Sir? Thanks Lew

I wonder if there is a magnet flip or RWRP in there but in the video, he does have some hum.

Just checked and the polarity is reversed in the two screw coils. So the magnet is flipped in one humbucker, relative to the other.

Mine doesn't hum much in the single coil modes so I'm guessing they're also reverse wound relative to each other.

I wish I could combine the two humbuckers, but they'd be out of phase anyway and I'm not into mosquito tone - probably the reason combining the two humbuckers is not available on the 5 way rotary of my PRS.

Long ago, in a galaxy far away, PRS five-way rotary switch wiring was slightly different. Position 8 was both humbuckers on together. Position 9 was "Power Out Of Phase" - the mosquito sound.

But it doesn't have to be mosquito tone if you wire it series out of phase. It can be fun at times and it's not weak.:cool2:
