PRS Anybody?

Re: PRS Anybody?

I always recognize that guy's auctions because of the high quality guitars, and his pics of him standing in his front yard with them. He deals in some real beauties, that's for sure.

My opinion of PRS is that the closer they stay with what Ted McCarty would have done, and less what Mr. Smith thinks, the better.

That means McCartys and Singlecuts go to the front of the line.

I used to have a Singlecut w/BRW neck. It was a killer guitar. I liked it but never played it so I ended up selling it to fund my AxeFx II. I'm not happy to have sold it but I'd rather have the AxeFx.

Re: PRS Anybody?

It looks fantastic, but who collects nice guitars AND NEVER PLAYS THEM?

I strongly disagree. First, I personally find Gibsons just sound better to my ears, but I also own a few PRS models for variety. Second, I personally have always found the CE-22 and Custom 22 to be the most unique and best sounding of the PRS choices.
I have yet to find any PRS sound as good as my '94 CE-22.

I stand by what I said. having bought and sod, played, traded and tested many PRSi in 27 years, I can honestly say, nothing beats the CE-22 for resonance, life, tone and feel.

Re: PRS Anybody?

There's some PRS's that I've played that I really like and some that I don't. All of the USA ones are out of my price range, even used, so when I had mine, it was a SE Singlecut. Great guitar, probably the best import model I've played, though I prefer my Focus 2000 more. Had to sell that PRS though.

Re: PRS Anybody?

The DGT is really nice, I have to admit that. Of all PRS, I prefer CE-22 first, Custom 22 with trem second. In fact, I am trying to find a mint used Custom 22 with trem for less than $2000, locally because I would like to play it first. I still would like a PRS DGT in the next few years but I want to pick up a Mesa Boogie Electra Dyne after Christmas as a little treat to myself and to finish up my amp collection for the time being. :)

Re: PRS Anybody?

LOVE my Royal Blue 07 Custom 24!! Never thought I would own a PRS as I just had never had one "speak" to me. That was till I bought this one. STOLE it at a local Pawn Shop and bought it to flip and make some $$ on not keep. I strung it set it up and took it out to practice just to see how it responded in a full band situation and it blew me away. That has been almost a year ago now and I haven't played a gig out with out the PRS since, it still knocks me out the way it responds on stage every time I take it out!
My Carvins and Washburns play better and a couple are prettier but NONE respond on stage or sound like the PRS.
Guess I'm hooked now :banghead::banghead:
