I've been considering a new amp for a while now. I still freaking love my Bassman, but come on, since when is it bad to have another amp?

Anyway, I got a Sweetwater credit card (baaaad idea) and they have PRS amps available with 24 month, interest free financing. I checked out their amp line and the Custom series and they look freaking awesome. Does anyone have experience with this specific amp, either the 50 or 100? I don't care about your experiences with other PRS amps, whether you loved or hated them. Just this amp.

All things considered, they're not even that expensive. $1750 for a 2 channel, 50W, hand built in the USA amp with reverb, individual solo boost controls, that awesome flame maple front panel, and all of the other cool features is a pretty good deal in my book.

This is turning into an expensive year for me. A custom guitar, a PRS amp, pedal stuff... and it's barely March. haha

I duno. I feel like there are so many amazing vintage / used amps floating around right now that it's hard to justify a brand new amp by somebody so new to the amp world.

If you waited for the right deals, you could get a lot of amp from $1200...

Re: PRS Custom 50/100

2 months ago u were saying u wanted an amp that does DJENT DJENT DJENT DJENT DJENT and that u will get a dual rectu...??? hmmm...

Re: PRS Custom 50/100

^ and you can get Dual Rectos for like $700 now.

My buddy bought a DSL100 for $300... Hell i bought a Sunn Model T for $300... it needs about $200 worth of repairs but still, that's a crazy deal...

Maybe this is just because I've never once been all that impressed by anything PRS has done (I mean the stuff is GOOD but not as good as they act like it is...) but I feel like you could spend your thousand plus dollars a lot better.

Re: PRS Custom 50/100

Although they don't apply for the 24 month financing plan, Sweetwater does carry Bogner... Maybe I should look into getting a Shiva.

Re: PRS Custom 50/100

I hate GAS... I'm looking really hard at this nice looking, USA made Egnater. It would be awesome because (hypothetically) I could use it in place of my Bassman on the clean channel set to the edge of breakup and my pedalboard will have all of the same tones, more or less. But then I could run it in stereo with the Bassman... oooh. And it would be really nice to have an amp that has a healthy amount of gain built in instead of having to rely on pedals all the time. And with SW's 24 month financing I would barely notice >$70 a month out of my pocket.

****, I might just get a new amp in the next month or two.
